Introduction
This is the sub ministry that ensures that opportunities are always created for us to reach out to teenagers in the primary Schools. We do this through leading and teaching them during their worship times in school, organizing career guidance courses to help them discover who they are and which course will be most appropriate for them to pursue in Secondary school. We also have exam seminars where we teach final year students how to succeed in their exams the right way.
Mandate
We reach out to JHS students with the word of God, catching them young to live a life of purpose and serving in the house of God all their lives.
Most people at that level go through a lot of psychological, social, and physical changes. In their quest to control all of these changes, they sometimes miss out on God’s purpose for their lives. We reach out to them to guide
their lives even at such critical point in their lives.
The scripture that says let these little ones come to me for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Ways of Reaching out
-
Worship Outreach
Here, the team takes over the worship session of the school or church or community. This can be done on either weekly, monthly, every two weeks or a one time basis depending on what will be favourable to the school/church/community and the J Reach team. -
Exam seminar
Here, the team seeks permission from the school to organize an exam seminar where issues concerning the DO’S and DON’TS of BECE, how to answer questions in an exam, among others will be talked about. -
Career guidance
Here the team directs the JHS students to make informed choices about the schools they choose (SHS), course they read, and future career they should pursue taking into consideration God’s purpose for their lives. -
Community Reach
Here, the team reaches out to teenagers in a community. Earlier notice must be made that there is going to be an outreach in that community. It can be done through a crusade, door-to-door reach out, rep your SHS (that you want to go to), or any other creative means provided the director has approved of it. A venue must also be secured ahead of time if the people will be expected to meet at a particular place. -
Church reach
Permission is sought from a church and during their Sunday service or any other day the church will give to the team, the team reaches out to teenagers in the church preferably to people between the ages of 12-17 since they are the ones likely to be in JHS.
