Remember when you first gave your life to Christ? Oh! the Joy and zeal it came with. You were eager to obey all that you were taught in “Sunday School”. You had a childlike faith.

So what went wrong?

You started trivializing sin; a very dangerous faith-wrecking stunt to attempt! “Oh this is a boys boys thing” “At a stage in everyone’s life, this is normal” These excuses marked the beginning of an unplanned journey; a journey to the worst. Your Christian friends who cared about your faith, sounded like “fanatics”. They were taking this “Christ thing” too far.

Gradually, the tyres of your Christian faith is losing its direction, you keep going around in circles, until your tires burn out, then, you veer off the path of the Spirit. You’ve now taken your own way but you’re going nowhere because you’re only moving around in circles.

Your convictions have grown feint, you don’t feel too bad for that sin you’d have cried over; it starts to feel normal. To your blind side, you have no idea how far or deep you’ve gotten into this. You seem to have found the coolest things to fix your attention on.

How did you get here?

It started with “A little fun won’t hurt anybody” “Body no be firewood”; forgetting that the body could also be a fuel which keeps the fires of hell blazing . A sneak peek of Instagram’s explore page got your emotions exploited, you were presented with mouth watering pictures of hot models. You forgot you had a battle with lust, so you sneaked to arrive at the peak of your untamed desires.

Shouting “The Lord is my banner” but your WhatsApp “Dp” displays a nude picture of a model. You’ve fallen in love with the title “Christian” but not the lifestyle and sacrifices it comes with. You’d rather be known as a “Savage” on Twitter, your name is found under every trolling comment section but not on Christian contents, to deliberate on the word of God.

What happened to Colossians 4:6? “Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out.”

The devil is cunning enough to entertain you for as long as you wouldn’t realize how far you’re drifting from the Lord, it’s a gradual process.

So what do you have to do? STEP ON THE BREAK!!! Are there conversations you have to end? Sex chats? STEP ON THE BREAK!! Do you have to stop going to that boy/girl’s house? STEP ON THE BREAK!! The people you call “friends” have nothing edifying to talk about rather than how they plan on laying that girl? STEP ON THE BREAK!!! Remember, the smallest hole unattended to, is what sinks the ship.

If you find yourself struggling with any sin, seek good and sound Christian counsel. God loves a contrite heart, he won’t cast you away from his presence, from his love and peace which is found only in him. Come back home you haven’t gone too far, come back to where you left him, he’s right there waiting for you.

You think you’ve drifted too far and wide? You were only running on a treadmill, you think you’ve trodden millions of miles away but you were only stationed at the gate of mercy. Come back home!!!!

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
